Senior Data Engineer

Job Description

Location: Lisbon

Work model: Hybrid (2x per week on-site)

Contract duration: 1 year (with possibility of renewal)

- Design and implement end-to-end data solutions across ingestion, transformation, storage, and orchestration layers.

- Build scalable cloud-native data platforms and architectures.

- Develop and optimize Data Lakes and Data Warehouses.

- Implement data validation, lineage, monitoring, and governance practices.

- Develop and maintain robust data pipelines.

- Support DataOps and CI/CD initiatives.

- Optimize performance, scalability, cost, and reliability of data platforms.

- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers.

- Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to deliver data-driven solutions.

Must-have Requirements

- 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering.

- Strong experience with:

- Data Modeling

- Data Lake solutions

- Data Warehouse solutions

- Experience with:

- Microsoft Fabric

- AWS or Google Cloud equivalents

- Python

- SQL

- Spark

- Experience with:

- BigQuery

- Redshift

- Knowledge of:

- Oracle

- SQL Server

- MongoDB

- Elasticsearch

- Experience with DevOps/DataOps and CI/CD practices.

- Strong communication and mentoring skills.

Nice to have

- Medallion Architecture.

- Data Governance.
