We are looking for a Data Engineer

Responsibilities:

Design, build, and maintain scalable, reliable data pipelines (batch and real-time), transforming complex business requirements into production-ready data solutions.

Develop and optimize ETL/ELT processes to ingest, transform, and integrate data from multiple sources (databases, APIs, files, streaming platforms).

Design and manage data models, data warehouses, and data lakes/lakehouses that support analytics, BI, and data science use cases.

Ensure data quality, consistency, and availability through validation, testing, monitoring, and observability practices.

Implement CI/CD pipelines, automate data workflows, and orchestrate jobs and dependencies across the data platform.

Optimize performance, scalability, and cost efficiency of data infrastructure and queries.

Collaborate closely with software engineers, data analysts, data scientists, and product teams to deliver data solutions aligned with business objectives.

Contribute to data architecture decisions, best practices, and continuous improvement initiatives across projects.

Requirements:

3+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Software Engineering, or a similar role.

Strong proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language for data processing (e.g. Python, Scala, or Java).

Solid experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines and working with data warehousing concepts.

Knowledge of data modelling (relational and dimensional) and working with both structured and unstructured data.

Experience with cloud data platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure, or GCP).

Familiarity with workflow orchestration tools and version control (e.g. Airflow, Git).

Understanding of data governance, data quality, and Agile methodologies.

Fluent English.

Nice to have:

Experience with big data and distributed processing technologies (e.g. Spark, Databricks, Kafka, Hadoop).

Experience with modern data stack tools (e.g. Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, dbt, Microsoft Fabric).

Knowledge of DataOps/MLOps practices, CI/CD, Docker, and infrastructure as code (e.g. Terraform).

Experience with streaming and real-time data architectures.

Familiarity with data security, privacy, and compliance practices (e.g. GDPR).

Relevant certifications in cloud or data platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure, Databricks, Snowflake).

Location: Lisboa

Work Model: Hybrid

Level of Experience: Mid (3 to 6 years)

Salary Package & Benefits: €1,200 to €2,000 (salary base) + Food Allowance + Flex Benefits
