Analytics application engineer/developer

We are seeking a talented Full Stack Software Engineer to join our Data & Analytics Team at Mercer, a Marsh business . This role will be based in Lisbon and will support the development of Oliver Wyman's new hub in Lisbon. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office. As a Full Stack Software Engineer, you will develop applications and platforms that enable users to explore, visualize, and interact with data in meaningful ways.

You will work across modern front-end and back-end technologies, helping bridge the gap between data analytics and software development while collaborating with cross-functional teams. We will count on you to: Contribute to the design and development of full-stack applications using MEAN/MERN technologies and Python Fast API . Develop and maintain applications that enable data exploration, visualization, and reporting. Design and develop microservices and APIs using an API-first approach, including integrations and JSON data handling.

Build clean, responsive, accessible, and cross-browser-compatible user interfaces using HTML5, CSS3, Java Script/Type Script, and React . Develop and deploy scalable applications using container technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, or similar , with an understanding of Git and CI/CD practices. Optimize application and front-end performance for speed, scalability, and a strong user experience.

What you need to have: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience demonstrated through relevant projects. At least 3 years of professional software engineering experience, including experience with Python/Fast API and a MEAN or MERN stack such as Node.js, Express.js, Angular or React, and Mongo DB. Experience working with SQL and No SQL databases, API integrations, JSON data, and responsive, scalable application development.

Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. What makes you stand out?
