Data Platform Engineer

At TMC (The Member Company), we are looking for a Data Platform Engineer to join an international project focused on building and scaling modern data ecosystems in the cloud.

This role is ideal for a data professional with strong experience in data modelling and platform engineering, who enjoys working on end-to-end data solutions across Data Lakes, Lakehouses and Data Warehouses.

- Design and implement scalable data platforms in cloud environments

- Lead and contribute to data modelling initiatives (key focus of the role)

- Develop and maintain robust and efficient data pipelines

- Work with cloud storage systems and analytical layers

- Support and improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes

- Contribute to Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices

- Ensure data quality, performance and governance standards

- Evaluate and adopt new tools and technologies within the data landscape

What We Are Looking For

Technical Skills

- Strong experience with at least one cloud platform (Azure, AWS or GCP)

- Experience working with:

- Data Lakes / Lakehouse architectures

- Data Warehousing solutions

- Hands-on experience with data modelling (mandatory)

- Proficiency in Python for data processing

- Familiarity with Terraform or other IaC tools

- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab, GitHub or Jenkins)

- Understanding of workflow orchestration concepts

- Practical experience with dbt

- Experience working in multi-cloud environments

- Familiarity with modern orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow or similar)

- Previous experience in consulting or fast-paced environments

- Strong interest in data platforms and cloud technologies

- Autonomous and proactive mindset

- Analytical thinking with a focus on solving complex problems

- Good communication and team collaboration skills

- Continuous improvement and learning attitude

- 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering / Data Platform roles

- Experience delivering end-to-end cloud data solutions

- Availability for hybrid work in Lisbon or Porto
