We are seeking a skilled

Back end Developer (Python)

to take on new challenges in a

hybrid work model in Lisbon.

About the Role

This role combines software development, automation, and hands-on work in Linux environments. It is ideal for professionals who enjoy building robust solutions, optimizing processes, and collaborating closely with infrastructure and system administration teams.

While

Python

is the primary language used for development, parts of the existing systems are implemented in

Perl . Therefore, we highly value candidates who are adaptable and eager to learn or work with different technologies.

Key Responsibilities

Application Development:

Develop and maintain applications and core processes in Python.

System Evolution:

Participate in the continuous evolution and maintenance of enrollment and identity management systems.

Automation & Scripting:

Create scripts and automations to streamline and optimize operational processes.

Environment Migrations:

Assist in migrating processes and services across different production environments.

Database Management:

Write and optimize SQL queries for data analysis, extraction, and processing.

System Reliability:

Ensure high reliability, performance, and maintainability of all developed solutions.

Cross-Team Collaboration:

Work alongside infrastructure and system administration teams to manage users, permissions, and technical processes.

Continuous Improvement:

Identify opportunities to improve systems, performance, and overall platform architecture.

Key Requirements

Mandatory

Proven experience in software development using

Python

(2+ years).

Solid knowledge of

Linux

and comfort working within Unix/Linux environments.

Strong working knowledge of

SQL .

Hands-on experience with

scripting and operational automation .

Proficiency with

Git

and standard software development best practices.

Nice-to-Have

Knowledge of

Perl

(or a strong willingness to work with and maintain legacy Perl codebases).

Understanding of user management, permissions, and access control mechanisms.

Familiarity with

Identity & Access Management (IAM)

frameworks and workflows.

Experience working with business-critical production environments.
