The project

We are seeking a Senior Java Backend Developer to work on a Tech project.

You will have the following responsibilities:

- Design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs using Java, applying object-oriented principles and design patterns consistently;

- Implement infrastructure-as-code components using Terraform to support scalable and repeatable environments;

- Build and evolve event-driven integrations using Kafka;

- Develop and maintain automated tests (unit and integration), applying TDD and shift-left testing practices;

- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and workflows using Git-based version control and automation;

- Deploy and operate services in Kubernetes environments, supporting reliability and performance;

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot complex issues and deliver high-quality solutions.

You need to have the following skills/experience:

- 5+ years of software development experience with a strong focus on Java backend development;

- Solid understanding of object-oriented programming principles and common design patterns;

- Experience with Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and automation;

- Hands-on experience with unit testing, integration testing, and TDD/shift-left practices;

- Proficiency with Git and CI/CD concepts and workflows;

- Knowledge of Kafka and event-driven architectures;

- Experience working with Kubernetes in development and/or production environments;

- Experience with GraphQL Federation;

- Knowledge of Azure Cloud;

- Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and teamwork skills.

Location

Full Remote (preference for candidates based in Bulgaria, Morocco or South Africa).
