Description

We are looking for a

Senior Node.js Developer

with strong hands-on experience building, scaling, and maintaining production backend systems.

This role requires more than theoretical knowledge: we are looking for someone who can demonstrate senior-level expertise in Node.js, API architecture, performance troubleshooting, distributed systems, and technical decision-making.

Requirements

Proven experience with Node.js backend development in production environments

Strong knowledge of scalable API architecture

Experience with performance optimization and troubleshooting

Solid understanding of asynchronous programming and event-driven systems

Experience with SQL and/or NoSQL database design and optimization

Experience with Docker and containerized deployments

Knowledge of monitoring, logging, and observability practices

Understanding of distributed systems concepts

Ability to explain Node.js internals, including the Event Loop, Worker Threads, and Child Processes

Experience handling race conditions, duplicate requests, and idempotency

Strong debugging and root cause analysis skills

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Node.js

Build and optimize APIs capable of handling high traffic volumes

Investigate and resolve production performance issues

Contribute to architectural decisions and technical planning

Ensure backend systems are reliable, observable, and maintainable

Collaborate with teams to improve system performance and scalability

Mentor junior developers and support technical growth within the team

Implement preventive measures after production incidents

Nice to have

Experience designing systems handling millions of API requests per day

Experience with microservice architectures and monolithic-to-microservice trade-offs

Strong background in production incident management

Previous experience in technical leadership or mentoring roles

Experience working with high-availability or distributed systems
