Python Backend Engineer (Remote - Europe)

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain scalable backend applications in Python, ensuring high performance and reliability

Build and optimize RESTful APIs to support frontend requirements and third-party integrations

Work with legacy Python/Django codebases, improving and refactoring for maintainability and scalability

Collaborate with cross-functional teams on architecture, design, and product enhancements

Implement automated testing, conduct code reviews, and maintain high code quality standards

Ensure performance optimization, troubleshooting, and security best practices

Document code, processes, and technical procedures for clarity and consistency

Stay up to date with emerging Python technologies and SaaS industry trends

Requirements

Strong proficiency in Python, with solid experience using Django or similar frameworks

Proven track record in developing and maintaining SaaS applications

Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, API design, and system integration

Knowledge of containerization tools (e.g., Docker) and cloud services (AWS preferred)

Familiarity with Agile methodologies and CI/CD workflows

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to refactor legacy code effectively

Experience with automated testing frameworks and performance optimization

Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with fluency in English (written and spoken)

Bonus: Experience with payment systems, cloud-based solutions, or security and compliance standards
