Frontend Engineer

Design, build, and maintain lightweight, high-performance JavaScript/TypeScript SDKs and payment components

Ensure isolation, backwards compatibility, browser compatibility, security, accessibility, and performance

Build and evolve merchant- and internal-facing web applications

Create responsive experiences across complex workflows, large datasets, dashboards, and data visualisations

Translate product and design intent into precise, accessible, intuitive interfaces

Work across the frontend/backend boundary and build Backend-for-Frontend services where appropriate

Use automated testing, performance optimisation, observability, and debugging practices

Version, document, and publish client libraries using semantic-versioning and backwards-compatibility discipline

Contribute to integration guidance for merchants

Collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering on architecture, technical trade-offs, and engineering practices

Resolve complex production issues

Requirements

Proven track record as a Frontend Engineer building sophisticated, high-performance web applications

Deep knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, CSS, the DOM, browser APIs, and modern web application performance

Strong experience with modern frontend frameworks, preferably React

Understanding of component architecture, application state, data fetching, frontend performance, and modern build and delivery practices

Experience building performant, data-intensive user interfaces and visualisations

Experience translating designs into polished, pixel-accurate, responsive, and accessible interfaces

Understanding of browser and web security fundamentals, including cross-origin behaviour, iframes, CSP, CORS, and secure handling of sensitive data

Commitment to building accessible experiences to WCAG standards

Strong software-engineering judgement and problem-solving skills

Ability to understand backend architecture, APIs, and data flows

Experience with framework-agnostic SDKs, hosted fields, checkout components, or third-party website integrations is advantageous

Experience with Backend-for-Frontend patterns and server-side technologies such as Node.js is advantageous

Experience in payments, fintech, or e-commerce, particularly with PCI DSS and security-sensitive customer journeys, is advantageous
