Senior Python Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Python Engineer to join a project in the retail sector.

We are looking for a highly experienced engineer with a strong Python background and solid knowledge of infrastructure and cloud environments. This is a Principal-level position requiring strong hands‑off expertise with Microsoft Azure, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), and Terraform.

Responsabilities:

- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend solutions using Python.

- Build and maintain APIs using FastAPI.

- Take technical ownership of complex solutions, contributing to architectural and engineering decisions.

- Work closely with cloud infrastructure running on Microsoft Azure.

- Deploy and manage containerised applications using Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).

- Work with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.

- Contribute to the scalability, reliability, and performance of production systems.

- Collaborate with engineering and infrastructure teams throughout the software development lifecycle.

- Apply software engineering best practices and contribute to high technical standards across the project.

- 12+ years of professional experience as a Python Engineer.

- Extensive hands‑on experience with Python.

- Strong experience developing APIs with FastAPI.

- Strong hands‑on experience with Microsoft Azure.

- Strong hands‑on experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).

- Strong hands‑on experience with Terraform.

- Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure, containerisation, and modern software architecture.

- Ability to operate at Principal Engineer level, taking ownership of complex technical decisions and solutions.

- Good understanding of software engineering best practices.

- Experience with CI/CD pipelines is a plus.

- Good level of English, both written and spoken.
