Data Architect

We are looking for an experienced Data Architect to design and deliver scalable, cloud-native data platforms with Databricks as a core technology. This role is ideal for someone who has hands-on experience architecting modern data solutions and can drive the design, governance, and implementation of enterprise data platforms.

Must be able to work - 3 days/week in Lisbon

This role is ideal for someone who has hands-on experience architecting modern data solutions and can drive the design, governance, and implementation of enterprise data platforms.

Responsibilities

- Design and architect end-to-end data platforms using Databricks and cloud-native technologies.

- Define scalable data architecture, including data lakes, lakehouses, and modern analytics platforms.

- Lead the design of batch and real-time data ingestion, transformation, and orchestration pipelines.

- Establish data modelling standards (conceptual, logical, and physical) to support analytics and operational use cases.

- Collaborate with data engineers, analytics teams, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.

- Implement data governance, security, lineage, and quality best practices.

- Optimize platform performance, scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency.

- Provide architectural guidance and technical leadership across data engineering initiatives.

Required Skills

- 6+ years of experience with Databricks (must-have).

- 6+ years of experience as a Data Architect designing enterprise-scale data platforms.

- Experience building and managing Lakehouse architectures using Databricks.

- Strong knowledge of Apache Spark, Delta Lake, and Databricks Workflows.

- Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform.

- Expertise in SQL and Python for data engineering and architecture.

- Experience with ETL/ELT design, data integration, and pipeline orchestration.

- Strong understanding of data governance, metadata management, and security frameworks.
