Senior Java Backend Engineer – Data Processing Platform

As a Senior Java Backend Engineer, you will be working for our client, a leader in data-driven solutions within the tech industry. You will contribute to the design and development of a powerful Data Processing application executed in batch mode using Spark, helping organizations harness big data for strategic growth. Your main responsibilities:

- Develop and optimize Java backend components for large-scale data processing applications.

- Contribute to the conception and implementation of scalable batch processing solutions using Spark.

- Collaborate on solution design, ensuring adherence to best practices and performance standards.

- Integrate container-based deployments using Docker and Kubernetes within CI/CD pipelines.

- Support the migration and integration of relational databases and object storage systems.

- Continually enhance system performance through analysis and tuning.

- Engage in knowledge growth around Big Data technologies, particularly Apache Spark.

- Work within a multicultural environment to deliver high-quality software solutions.

You're ideal for this role if you have:

- At least 7 years of hands-on experience in Java development (Java 8+).

- Strong expertise in backend architecture, API design, and solution architecture.

- Proven experience with SQL and relational databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle).

- Solid understanding of containerization with Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes.

- Familiarity with CI/CD tooling such as Maven, GitLab, ArgoCD, and Liquibase.

- Good analytical skills and a proactive approach to working in data-intensive environments.

It is a strong plus if you have:

- Exposure to or willingness to learn Apache Spark and Big Data frameworks.

- Knowledge of Spark SQL, Hadoop, Flink, or related technologies.

- Experience with batch processing workflows and ETL pipelines.

- French language skills at B2 level.

- English (Communicative level)
