Procurement and Supply Chain Manager (Portugal)

Role description:
The business has grown over the last 8 years from an R&D stage to our current scale-up stage and with that growth, we need a supply chain expert with the end-to-end knowledge who can help our supply chain process to evolve in line with our increasing customer demands. Based at our Portuguese offices the Procurement and Supply Chain Manager will help establish relationships and robust processes for how we source, receive and ship a broad range of inputs and finished products. In terms of procurement, it spans from components for our fermentors to ingredients for the food that we feed microorganisms used in our dyeing processes. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in selecting and managing regional logistics partners for inbound and outbound – whilst at the same time working internally to align solutions for the different areas of our business. It is essential that along with the requisite experience, this person also brings a self-starting attitude, is comfortable working many fronts and can effectively drive things to completion.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Working with all areas of the business to design and roll out a supply chain strategy for all areas of inbound/outbound logistics, strategic sourcing and supply chain operations
Finding new international suppliers for a variety of components and ingredients for our products
Establishing partnerships with 3PLs to help with storage and shipment of fermentors and biological feed materials
Working with finance to help understand custom requirements when products are shipped globally
Scheduling in line with the company’s growth production plan
Playing a hands-on role in all areas of the global supply chain
Skills and experience:
10+ years in an end-to-end supply chain role – with experience designing and implementing supply chain processes
Strong understanding of logistics – inbound, outbound and warehousing
Experience sourcing, contracting and managing 3rd party logistics providers
The ability to design and monitor strategic KPIs focused on OTIF metrics
Previous start-up experience would be beneficial
Marine Cargo insurance knowledge would be advantageous
Accredited to IoSCM standards or equivalent is desirable
Must be able to communicate well in Portuguese and English
An existing right to work in Portugal/EU is required for this role.

Remuneration: €35-43,000 depending on experience
