Software Engineer – Python | Cloud | Data

Location: Portugal– Remote

Travel: 75–80% travel required

Employment Type: Contract / Project-Based

Duration: 6-12 months rolling contract

Work Arrangement: Remote from Portugal with frequent client-site travel within Portugal.

Role Overview

We are building a talent community of experienced Software Engineers for upcoming projects with one of our premier management consulting clients.

As a Software Engineer, you will contribute to the development and deployment of new and existing products, writing high-quality, scalable code and helping take solutions into production. You will also participate in code reviews, paired programming, technical discussions, and product decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, test, and deploy high-quality software solutions.

- Contribute to both new product development and enhancement of existing applications.

- Write clean, maintainable, scalable, and production-ready code.

- Participate in code reviews and paired-programming sessions.

- Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and client stakeholders.

- Contribute to technical and product decisions.

- Select appropriate technologies and approaches based on project requirements.

- Experiment with new technologies and continuously improve development practices.

- Support cloud-based deployments and containerized applications.

- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across development and production environments.

Required Skills & Experience

- Strong professional experience in Software Engineering / Software Development.

- Strong hands-on experience with Python.

- Experience with one or more cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.

- Experience with Databricks and/or Kedro is highly desirable.

- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.

- Experience developing applications using Django, Flask, or similar Python frameworks.

- Strong experience with relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL.

- Good understanding of software development lifecycle, testing, deployment, and production support.

- Ability to evaluate and use the right technology for the right problem.

- Comfortable working in an agile, collaborative, and fast-paced environment.

- Strong communication and stakeholder collaboration skills.

Education

A degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.

Equivalent professional experience and technical knowledge will also be considered.

Location & Travel

- Remote position based in Portugal.

- 75–80% travel required, potentially to client/project locations across Europe depending on project requirements.

- Candidates must be comfortable with frequent business travel.
