About The Role
As a Senior Frontend Software Engineer, you will be at the forefront of developing intuitive, high-performance web applications that enhance user experiences. You will collaborate closely with our product, design, and backend engineering teams to create seamless and engaging interfaces. Your expertise will be crucial in driving the technical direction of our front‑end architecture and ensuring the delivery of high‑quality, scalable solutions. By leveraging your deep understanding of modern front‑end technologies, you will play a key role in shaping the future of our products.
What You'll Do
Design and implementation of user‑friendly web applications using modern frontend frameworks and libraries.
Collaboration with product managers and designers to translate requirements into functional and appealing interactive applications.
Optimization for speed and scalability.
Ensuring the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs.
Writing clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
Leading code reviews and mentoring junior developers.
Staying up‑to‑date with emerging technologies and industry trends, and applying them to operations and activities.
Troubleshooting and debugging issues to improve application performance.
Implementing and advocating for best practices in front‑end development.
Integrating with backend services; working closely with backend developers to integrate APIs and other microservices.
Taking ownership of the analysis, design, development, and delivery of software solutions.
Defining requirements for new applications and customization in accordance with Mastercard standards, processes, and best practices.
Developing, customizing, and testing applications to align with Mastercard’s specifications.
Providing technical training to fellow team members.
Actively participating in design sessions.
Participating in sprint planning and backlog sessions.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field and 7+ years of relevant experience in frontend development.
Proficiency in JavaScript and experience with modern frameworks such as React.
Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, and related web technologies.
Experience with state management libraries such as Redux or MobX.
Proven ability to build responsive and adaptive web applications that function seamlessly across different devices and browsers.
Experience with building tools such as Webpack, Babel, or similar.
Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams.
Actively participating in design sessions; participating in sprint planning and backlog sessions.
Results‑driven attitude, with a focus on delivering high‑quality code and meeting project deadlines.
Ability to work in an agile development environment and adapt to changing priorities.
The Pay Range For This Role Is
55,000 - 65,000 EUR per year (Hybrid – Lisboa, Lisboa, PT)
55,000 - 65,000 EUR per year (Hybrid – Porto, Porto, PT)
