Job Description

Founded in Switzerland in 1968, Zühlke is owned by its partners and located across Europe and Asia. We are a global transformation partner, with engineering and innovation in our DNA. We're trusted to help clients envision and build their businesses for the future – to run smarter today while adapting for tomorrow’s markets, customers, and communities.

Our multidisciplinary teams specialise in tech strategy and business innovation, digital solutions and applications, and device and systems engineering. We excel in complex, regulated spaces including health and finance, connecting strategy, tech implementation, and operational services to help clients become more effective, resilient businesses.

If you share our values and want to do the best work, for the right reasons, we can offer you the chance to do it on a global scale and play a real role in shaping our exciting journey.

The role

You'll work on a complex fire alarm system comprising over 3 microcontrollers. You'll get to work with cutting-edge technologies such as modern C++ and RTOS (Zephyr) and be responsible for building one part of the system. You'll work in a multicultural team distributed across Europe and collaborating in a hybrid work model.

How you'll make an impact

- Write and review modern C++ code to implement new system features.

- Test the features you develop with unit tests and on hardware.

- Maintain and use Zephyr RTOS features for building lower layers of the system.

- Investigate bugs by analysing logs and traces, find the root cause and fix it.

- Participate in the agile meetings and program increment discussions and negotiations.

What's important to us

- University degree in Embedded Systems, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or a related field (2+ years of embedded experience required if not directly embedded-focused).

- Solid foundation in C++ and an understanding that software engineering is more than just programming.

- Practical experience in development of software for embedded systems.

- Experience with microcontrollers and their peripherals (STM32).

- Experience with RTOS (knowledge of Zephyr will be considered a plus).

- You understand the requirements of systems regarding security, safety and quality and can build the system so that it meets them.

- Fluency in English and enjoyment of working in a team distributed across Europe.

What we offer
