to incidents. This role is vital in protecting the company's data and ensuring compliance with
security policies and regulations.Job Description Responsibilities
1. Security Monitoring and Incident Response : Monitor security access and investigate suspicious activity. Respond to security incidents and participate in resolution efforts.
2. Policy and Compliance: Assist in the enforcement of security policies and procedures.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to information security.
3. Vulnerability Management : Conduct regular scans of networks and systems for vulnerabilities. Assist in implementing security measures to protect against identified threats.
4. Security Awareness: Participate in developing and delivering security awareness training for employees.
5. Collaboration and Reporting: Work closely with the IT department and other stakeholders. Provide reports on security status and incidents to senior engineers and management.
Qualifications (Essential)
1. Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
2. Technical Skills: Basic knowledge of security protocols, cryptography, authentication, authorization, and security.
3. Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
4. Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Qualifications (Desired)
1. Certifications: Industry certifications like CompTIA Security+, CEH, or similar are advantageous.
2. Experience: Prior internship or experience in an IT or security role is preferred from 1 to 3 years
3. Teamwork Skills: Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
4. Continual Learning: Willingness to stay updated with the latest in information security and technology trends.
Experience
1. Foundational Security Knowledge: Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles, including network security, endpoint protection, and threat mitigation. Familiarity with common security tools and software.
2. Internship or Practical Experience: Prior experience in an internship or entry-level role focused on IT or cybersecurity, where skills relevant to information security were applied or developed.
3. Academic Projects or Research: Participation in relevant academic projects, research, or extracurricular activities related to cybersecurity, demonstrating a keen interest and foundational skills in the field.
4. Basic Incident Response: Exposure to incident response scenarios, even in a simulated environment, showing an understanding of how to identify and react to security threats.
5. Policy and Compliance Awareness: Awareness of basic security policies and regulatory compliance issues. Understanding of the importance of adhering to security best practices and legal requirements.
6. Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with basic security tools and technologies, such as firewalls, antivirus software, or intrusion detection systems. Basic skills in network administration or system security.
7. Collaborative Experience: Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment, contributing to joint projects or collaborative efforts in a technical capacity.
8. Continuous Learning: Evidence of ongoing learning and development in cybersecurity, such as participation in workshops, online courses, certifications, or staying updated with industry trends.
