Senior Java Developer

Software Engineer / Technical Business Analyst – Java | Porto | Hybrid

We are looking for a Software Engineer / Technical Business Analyst to join a development team working on a challenging project within the financial services sector.

The project focuses on the evolution of an application dedicated to managing financial statement reference data. The solution integrates information from multiple external sources, including public and market data providers, and also supports data capture from unstructured documents.

- Design, develop, secure and scale back-end architectures

- Develop solutions using Java 21 and Spring

- Follow CI/CD best practices and contribute to the industrialization of the solution

- Work with microservices architectures

- Ensure code quality through unit testing, version control and good development practices

- Participate in solution validation with end users

- Understand functional requirements and translate them into technical solutions

- Collaborate closely with both Business and IT teams

- University degree in IT, Computer Science, Information Management or a related field, or equivalent professional experience

- 1–3 years of experience as a Software Engineer / Data Analyst

- Strong expertise in Java 21

- Strong knowledge of Spring / Spring Boot

- Advanced SQL, particularly PostgreSQL

- Good understanding of microservices, CI/CD, unit testing and version control

- Experience with Docker and cloud environments such as AWS, IBM Cloud or similar

- Experience working in Agile environments

- Knowledge of data management / data governance is a plus

- Comfortable working in a multi-hat role, combining technical and functional responsibilities

- Strong written and verbal communication skills

- Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions

- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

- Creativity and an innovative mindset

- Team-oriented and collaborative approach

- Attention to detail and strong sense of ownership

- Ability to build bridges between Business and IT

- English: Expert level

- French: Basic knowledge is a plus
