Database Administrator

We are seeking a talented Database Administrator to join our team in Faro, Portugal.

As a Database Administrator you will be responsible for the performance, integrity, and security of our company’s databases. Your main tasks include ensuring data remains consistent, creating and managing backups, troubleshooting and resolving database issues, and maintaining data security protocols.

Responsibilities

Design and implement database systems based on business requirements

Monitor database performance and make necessary modifications to ensure optimal performance

Troubleshoot database issues and provide solutions in a timely manner

Perform regular backups to ensure data is not lost in case of system failures

Implement data security measures to protect sensitive information

Ensure data integrity by identifying and resolving any discrepancies or errors

Develop and maintain database documentation including data standards, procedures, and definitions for the data dictionary

Collaborate with other IT team members to implement new technologies or upgrades related to databases

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field

Proven work experience as a Database Administrator or similar role

In-depth knowledge of SQL and MySQL databases

Familiarity with database design principles and query optimization techniques

Experience with backup and recovery procedures

Knowledge of data security protocols and best practices

Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex database issues

Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a team

Salary : 1200$ per month, negotiable based on experience

Location : Faro, Portugal (living expenses not included)

Working Hours : Full-time, 40 hours per week

Accommodation : Not provided by company

Visa Sponsorship : This position requires candidates who already have legal authorization to work in Portugal
